Alexa Has a New Whisper Mode, Here’s How to Use It

Back toward the end of September, Amazon held an event where it announced a boat load of new products.

And Amazon is tackling that problem with a new Whisper Mode for Alexa and Alexa-powered devices.

Once the feature is activated, using it is simple: speak a command to Alexa quietly and the assistant will follow your lead, responding in a low whisper.

Whisper mode will likely be most useful around children, whether it's to get the kids in the mindset that it's bedtime and they should be quiet, or to avoid waking a sleeping child.

Whisper Mode isn't enabled by default on Alexa - the feature is only available in the United States and you will have to manually turn it on for the feature to work.

Alexa's Whisper mode is now only available in English to users in the United States.

Amazon is expanding the ways you can interact with Alexa yet again. To enable it in the app, open your settings menu, tap "Alexa Account", then head into "Alexa Voice Responses" and toggle "Whispered Responses". There's no word regarding when Whisper Mode might launch to global markets.
