Earlier this month, OnePlus confirmed that its upcoming new phone will have its biometric reader embedded in the display, and the company calls it Screen Unlock. The teaser in question comes with a "hexagonal "T" logo" for the OnePlus 6T and "almost certainly hints at" an in-display fingerprint scanner. OnePlus will select 10 people globally who will receive the unit and get to use it before the official release.

The new OnePlus 6T will have the optical fingerprint sensor built right below the screen, most probably just above the base for easy access to the thumb similar to the Vivo V11 Pro (image below).

According to CNBeta, the OnePlus 6T will have a 3,700 mAh battery (above), which is 400 mAh bigger than the OnePlus 6 battery. It is present in both the Find X and the R17 Pro so it stands to reason that OnePlus will want to put a version of it in their new phone. Details of this feature are still scarce. A new report reveals the upcoming flagship will pack a significantly bigger battery than its predecessor.

Under-the-hood, it is expected to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core and come in multiple RAM + storage configuration-6GB RAM+64GB storage, 8GB RAM+128GB storage and 8GB RAM+256GB storage. Android 9 Pie will be pre-installed with Oxygen OS 9 on top. The company has so far confirmed that it will kill the 3.5mm headphone jack on the OnePlus 6T. It will compensate with the USB Type-C Bullets headphones.

We expect better battery life from every new phone that launches going forward, and the OnePlus 6T will be no different.
