United Kingdom mother Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been granted three days temporary release from prison in Iran, her husband says.

Free Nazanin Campaign Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe reunited with her daughter Gabriella.

Her British husband Richard Ratcliffe said his wife was with family in Damavand and had been reunited with her daughter Gabriella, four.

The imprisoned Briton was called on Thursday morning while she was still in her night cloths and told that she had 10 minutes to get ready because she was being released, the Free Nazanin Campaign said. She is now with her family in Damavand.

Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe "dressed and packed quickly as her cellmates gathered round", the campaign said. "She (Nazanin) was very happy on the phone, though confessed to having cried lots, particularly when seeing her grandmother, and to being still overwhelmed". Her family denies this, saying she was in Iran to visit family.

In July, the Ratcliffe family spoke of their concerns that Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe's case would be neglected because of Boris Johnson's resignation as foreign secretary.

She was also accused of being a journalist, when in fact she works for a charity, the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

Iranian authorities could not immediately be reached for further comment. It remains unclear if that threatened charge remains in play.

Mr Ratcliffe said: "Furlough is not full freedom - we want her home, not just on holiday from prison - but it is still such a good step".

Richard Ratcliffe thanked Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, who recently took over from Johnson as foreign secretary. "But being in prison AT ALL is gross injustice and she must be PERMANENTLY released for which every effort will continue".
