A quirky 7-year-old, 25-pound cat in the Chicago suburbs who sits up on his hind legs is getting a lot of attention after a shelter posted an online adoption ad, according to reports. I never drink the water in the kitchen where my food is.

"I only drink the water that was put in a completely different room. They are not sure how I learned".

"Fame has gone to his head", the shelter said in a Facebook post yesterday.

He's now on a diet and is perfectly healthy apart from the extra weight he's carrying. If Bruno accepts an application from another family, don't worry - please consider adopting one of the many other cats looking for homes at Wright-Way Rescue or your local animal shelter.

Bruno says: 'I know my tummy is so tempting to touch, but I would prefer if you didn't. "I am walking, playing, and doing tricks like this to lose some weight".

Erin Ellison, who works at the shelter, told BuzzFeed that Bruno has been in their care since April when he was given up for adoption and has been placed in foster care.

"Our thicc boi Bruno is now reviewing applications for the ideal home".

Long story short, this cat is the definition of extra. I may swat my hand and pretend to bite if you do'. He admits - yes, he knows he is "EXTRA".

The shelter has been inundated with adoption requests, which has really boosted Bruno's already high self-esteem. The rescue is reviewing the many applications that have been submitted.

If you're going to give him food, don't just fill the bowl and walk away - Bruno likes to be petted while he eats.

Wright-Way Rescue describes Bruno as an overall "pretty laid-back, lazy cat who just wants to be in the presence of my owners".
