Noles crack preseason Coaches Poll at #19

As expected, Alabama, who won the College Football Playoff last season, is rated No. 1 overall.

The Seminoles' ranking this year is the lowest since 2011, and is the lowest preseason ranking in the Coaches Poll since being ranked #12 prior to the 2013 campaign.

The 65 coaches that vote on the coaches' poll clearly agree that James Franklin's team still has the talent of a top-ten team in the country despite the losses of Saquon Barkley, Mike Gesicki, Marcus Allen, and several other key pieces of last year's team to the NFL.

Clemson is No 2 in the Coaches' Poll, Ohio State is No. 3 followed by Georgia and No. 5 Oklahoma.

Junior running back Rodney Anderson, junior wide receiver Marquise Brown, sophomore tight end Grant Calcaterra, junior offensive lineman Bobby Evans, senior offensive lineman Ben Powers and senior kicker/punter Austin Seibert were among the 29 players who were named to the all-conference squad by position.

OU opens the 2018 season by hosting Florida Atlantic on September 1 at 11 a.m. CT at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The 2018 preseason Amway Coaches Poll was unveiled Thursday, and the University of Miami is No. 8.
