Levin Slams Media for 'Hysterical, Insane Attack' on Trump After Putin Summit

President Donald Trump on Tuesday moved to limit the damage from his summit with Vladimir Putin, claiming he misspoke in appearing to accept the Russian leader's denial of election meddling, in a rebuke to USA intelligence chiefs.

And while Trump's tried-and-true base will stick by him, most voters won't easily forget watching the president get his hat handed to him by none other than Vladimir Putin, the former KGB agent and now head of the Evil Empire. Yeah, I did heard these rumors that these allegedly collected compromising material on Mr. Trump when he was visiting Moscow.

In a press conference, Trump said, "My people came to me... they said they think it's Russian Federation".

In an interview in Moscow during the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, Trump said he did in fact have a relationship with Putin: "I do have a relationship, and I can tell you that he's very interested in what we're doing here today".

While many USA officials are blasting Trump's performance, Trudeau wouldn't comment, and instead repeated his condemnation of Putin and Russian Federation.

"In a key sentence in my remarks, I said the word "would" instead of 'wouldn't", he said.

President Donald Trump refused to back the US intelligence community's assessment on Russia's 2016 US Presidential election interference and was met with a wave of criticism.

President Trump hailed last week's North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Europe as victory for his tough stance of demanding the United States' European allies make big new defence spending pledges.

In the Finnish capital, Trump had refused to say he believed U.S. intelligence agencies over Russia's denials of meddling and delivered no condemnation of Moscow's interference.

"Let's be very clear: Russian Federation meddled in our election", Ryan said. Harris asked. "We should concentrate on the summit".

"I think there's a lot we can do together", the Senate's No. 2 Republican, John Cornyn of Texas, responded. We should have had this dialogue a long time ago.

Later Tuesday, Trump tweeted, "The meeting between President Putin and myself was a great success, except in the Fake News Media!"

But some of Trump's closest advisers, including Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, held a different view, according to Bloomberg.

The action was not only a literalization of football jargon, but also symbolic of passing on the responsibility of hosting the World Cup; a joint bid of the US, Mexico and Canada was announced as the victor of the right to hold the 2026 version a day before Russian Federation 2018 began in Moscow.

In their response, many usa politicians simply refused to accept an equivalence between the United States and Russian Federation. "That must be the intelligence agencies", the president joked.

"I had a great meeting with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation", he said in the same tweet.

Mr Trump's former communications director Anthony Scaramucci told CNN the "optics are bad" and "he has to reverse course immediately".

Donald Trump has accused critics of "Trump derangement syndrome" as the fallout from his summit with Vladimir Putin showed no sign of abating.

He said the sentence should have been, "I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Russian Federation", rather than, "I don't see any reason why it would be Russian Federation".
