The hip-hop star has hit up social media to share heartfelt words following the fatal shooting of Toronto native Smoke Dawg.

Toronto news company CP24 reports that multiple witnesses heard gunshots outside Cube nightclub, which is located on a busy street in the city's entertainment district.

As a tribute to Smoke Dawg, Toronto-based rapper Drake shared a message along with an image on Instagram. We are now searching for two suspects who are believed to have fled the scene in a black SUV or a white vehicle.

The security agency also revealed that two male victims and one female were taken to the hospital in critical condition but one of the male victims was pronounced dead. According to police, three victims suffered serious injuries during the incident.

"All these gifts and blessed souls and inner lights being extinguished lately is devastating". "I wish peace would wash over our city".

Mustafa the Poet, a songwriter and friend of Smoke Dawg's, wrote on Twitter: 'Smokey is gone, may our prayers follow him to heaven'.

Police have not yet confirmed Smoke Dawg was the victim. He was a member of the music collective Halal Gang, which includes rappers Safe, Puffy L'z and Mo-G.

He continued, "So much talent and so many stories we never get to see play out".

His death comes shortly after the June 18 shooting death of Florida rapper XXXTentacion, who was killed during an armed robbery in Florida.

Earlier this week, Smoke Dawg released the song Fountain Freestyle and was preparing to put out his debut full-length project, Struggle Before Glory, later in the year.
