Liverpool have already wrapped up the signing of Monaco's defensive midfielder Fabinho and are pressing ahead with their pursuit of France global Nabil Fekir, while they continue to be linked with a move for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, who has been valued at £79million.

Nabil Fekir and Alisson appear to be Liverpool's top targets this summer, having already completed the signings of Fabinho and Naby Keita. "Naby Keita didn't become a world class player with us, but he could possibly become one now at Liverpool".

In a protracted transfer saga, Keita actually agreed to join Liverpool last August. "My role models are Lewandowski, Luis Suarez and Griezmann", Werner told German newspaper Die Welt.

Keita will finally become a Liverpool player on July 1, after a hard final season in Germany with saw him sent off three times.

"To become a world class player I probably need to play for an even better team at the club level".

Though he did add it may not be an immediate move: "I have four or five years to learn to then become world class".

The striker scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season, after also netting 21 times in his debut campaign for the club.

The Germany worldwide has developed into one of the Bundesliga's most highly rated young players, particularly since joining Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2016.

Werner netted 13 goals in the Bundesliga this season.
