Her father, Thomas Markle, now says he won't attend the Royal Wedding because he'll be undergoing heart surgery and can not travel.

As she takes her first steps down the aisle, copycat designers will be working on replica versions of the gown.

Markle threw the wedding plans into confusion earlier this week when he said he would not attend the May 19 nuptials because he did not want to embarrass his daughter.

"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding", the palace statement said.

When sworn to secrecy, it can be... Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have invited well-wishers to make donations to one of seven chosen charities to mark their wedding this weekend.

According to the LAX website, it takes travellers 2,200 footsteps from auto seat to plane seat, but for members of the Private Suite, it's a mere 70 footsteps.

The Daily Mail initially cast doubt on the heart attack claim, saying that it confirmed that Thomas did not seek medical attention on the day of the reported heart attack but spent "all day" inside his home. "Meghan always has her dog on a lead, and since she has started walking her dog in the park some of us regular dog walkers been asked to put dogs on leads". "Seems that I had a mini stroke, but am doing well & on the mend", he said.

Markle's half sister, Samantha, said that she was the one to blame for the snaps and that they were meant to portray her father in a positive light. She said the media had "raked him over the coals" and "distorted his image".

It is said that the decision for her to leave was on Doria's terms, as her new ambition is to set up her own practice.

Prince Harry is yet to meet his future father-in-law.
