The Hawaii born actress lost her unborn child.

Miles' lawyer confirmed the tragic news on Wednesday.

Miles and her husband Jonathan Blumenstein lost their unborn daughter, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein, on Friday, the family's attorney Ben Rubinowitz said in a statement, the Wall Street Journal reported. Ruthie and Jonathan are grateful for the support of their family and friends but wish and ask that their privacy be respected during this most trying time. "The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is almost impossible to fathom".

The baby was due this month.

At around 12:40pm, the 44-year-old female driver in question ran over Abigail and dragged Lauren's one-year-old son Josh over 100 feet down the road, while he was still in his pushchair.

People gather at a sidewalk memorial for two children who were killed in March when they were struck by a vehicle driven by a woman who likely had a seizure behind the wheel, in the Park Slope neighborhood of the Brooklyn borough of NY.

A fifth victim, a 46-year-old man, was also hit by Burns.

The two children were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Dorothy Bruns, was arrested at her Staten Island home on Thursday, May 3, and has been charged with manslaughter.

Bruns' lawyer pleaded not guilty on her behalf.

She claims she had a seizure.

Before the accident took place, a source previously told PEOPLE the 4-year-old Abigail "was excited to be a big sister".
