Airtel's 'new move' to take on rivals

In comparison, Reliance Jio has a prepaid plan priced at Rs 98 which offers unlimited local and national voice calls, and 2GB 4G data, throughout the validity of 28 days. The plan comes with validity of one month. However, it is important to note that the telecom operator is yet to roll out 4G LTE services in India, meaning that users will have surf internet on 3G network. he plan also provides free access to PRBT tune (caller tune). Once you exhaust you 1 GB data, BSNL will charge for data usage as per its standard rates.

BSNL's offer also comes with limitations in select circles, and it only offers half the amount of data that Jio does at Rs 20 lesser price. Airtel users who take the Rs 219 recharge pack can set an available song as the caller tune via Wynk Music without any cost, in addition to requesting Hello Tune via song codes. At the moment, there are a plethora of tariff plans from top telcos even under Rs 200 offering unlimited voice calls, daily data limit per day and SMS benefit as well. And now to keep in the running with Reliance Jio telecom offerings, it has launched a new Rs. 118 recharge plan that offers unlimited voice calls jammed with data incentives. This remains unchanged from the other packs offered by the telco.

Following the suit, Idea started rolling a similar prepaid plan for Rs. 109.

As reported by TelecomTalk, all Airtel subscribers who have purchased any unlimited prepaid packs will get the after FUP speed of 128kbps. And after cross the calling threshold, users will be charged at 1 paisa per second for calls. Now, the state-run telecom operator has a new plan to take on Reliance Jio and others. BSNL has recently announced new plans doubling the FUP data for three of its FTTH plans with no change in prices.
