Naby Keita signed off in style from RB Leipzig as they dished out a 6-2 hammering of Hertha Berlin, sealing a sixth place Bundesliga finish.

The 23-year-old was pictured wearing a Liverpool scarf as the excitement surrounding his switch to the club intensifies.

It is clear that Keita is very well respected by RB Leipzig supporters despite his decision to leave the club.

Champions League qualification was set to guarantee a €75m fee (£66m), Europa League qualification amounted to €68m (£60m) and no European football would have cost Liverpool just €60m (£53m).

Keita will link up with Liverpool for pre-season this summer and the Reds were looking on with interest as the player's final fee was dependent upon where Leipzig finished in the table.

"There is no way Liverpool would agree to sell him before he has played a game", the Anfield insider said.

However, if Leipzig secured Champions League football, the transfer fee would have been around £59m.

But Jurgen Klopp has invited Keita to Kiev for Liverpool's Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 26.

"I have not been thinking about things like this, but if Naby is reading this and he wants to come with us to the final, he is invited!"

'Hopefully, Naby will have a big effect on the team immediately because of his quality.

"Maybe not the same number as last year, but the whole Leipzig team didn't do exactly the same as last year either".
