Egypt and Nigeria, two of Africa's World Cup-bound teams have named provisional squads with a little over a month to the global football showpiece.

Egypt begin their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on 15 June. Each team heading to Russian Federation is expected to present final 23-man squads in the coming weeks.

"The Mohamed Salah lantern is the highest selling lantern this year", Essam said, citing the "Salah-mania" sweeping across the nation as the driving force behind the numbers.

On Sunday, Salah set a new single-season Premier League scoring record after notching his 32nd goal of the season for Liverpool, surpassing the old mark of 31 goals he had shared with Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.

Pharaohs manager Hector Cuper has included numerous England-based players including Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny, West Bromwich Albion duo Ahmed Hegazi and Ali Gabr, Stoke City's Ramadan Sobhi, Ahmed Elmohamady of Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic's Sam Morsy. All teams are tough.

The reserves included Entag El-Harby keeper Amer Amer, Al Ahly's Walid Soliman and Hossam Ashour, Assiouty Sport's Hamada Tolba, Momen Zakaria and Amr Gamal who are on loan at Ahli Jeddah and HJK Helsinki, respectively.

Egypt will play at Kuwait on May 25 and then face Colombia in Bergamo, Italy.
