EPL champions Manchester City ended the season with 100 points following a 1-0 away victory over Southampton, while runners-up Manchester United defeated 14th-placed Watford 1-0.

The final-day "miracle" that Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal required didn't happen, with the Welsh club losing 2-1 to Stoke to end its seven-year stay in the league and ensure Southampton stayed up.

4 - Dunk is the only player with more than one own goal this season and racked up a remarkable four - against Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Swansea - to equal the Premier League record set by Martin Skrtel for Liverpool in 2013-14.

As well as winning the most points by an English top-flight side in a single campaign, City's 32nd win broke Tottenham's 57-year-old record for victories in a single top-flight season, BBC reports. We have done that all season.

City boss Pep Guardiola said: "What can I say?"

In the 56th-minute Fernandinho should have done better than smash a volley horribly over from inside the Southampton box and Jesus was introduced in place of Fabian Delph to give them an attacking focal point.

Although the opponents were a Mark Hughes team once again, the nature of this triumph could not be more far removed - even if late winners earlier in the season from Raheem Sterling against Bournemouth, Southampton and Huddersfield Town became one of the symbols of City's success.

The game appeared to heading for a draw but, six years to the day since Sergio Aguero's last-second title-winning goal for City against QPR, Jesus found space in the final moments to lift the ball over McCarthy and spark mayhem among the travelling fans.

At +79, City beat the goal difference record of +71 set by Chelsea in 2009-10. It's why he has offered a significant upgrade over last season's starter, Claudio Bravo.

Most consecutive wins: Arsenal (2001-02) and Chelsea (2016-17) held the record with 13 straight victories, but City equalled that with their derby-day win at Old Trafford on December 10 before extending the record to 18 matches. I think it's a record that will stay for a long time.

"I will not say just Liverpool, but it's true - Liverpool, [because of] the way they play and the quality of their players, not just up front". And in our minds, you know, it's already over.

"It's been the hardest season".
