West Virginia forward Teddy Allen announced he will transfer after one season with the Mountaineers.

Allen appeared in every game but two during his first year with the program averaging 7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. "I have received my release from West Virginia University". He scored in double figures 11 times, highlighted by a career-high 24 points against Coppin State on December 20. 7 Oklahoma 89-76.

Allen's playing time with the Mountaineers dwindled, however, late in the season. The ones that aren't surprised will think about WVU coach Bob Huggins benching Allen for behavior issues in the middle of the season.

Allen leaves West Virginia with 13 scholarship players on the roster and the program is still recruiting Tacoma (Wa.) wing Emmitt Matthews, who is now on an official visit to campus.

Finishing the season only 3-of-25 from 3-point range, Allen scored most of his baskets on mid-range jumpers and crafty moves in the paint around taller defenders.

Allen joins sophomore Maciej Bender and junior D'Angelo Hunter as WVU's outgoing transfers, in addition to the departures of senior guards Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles.
