With face unlock being one of the hottest features for smartphones since its mainstream success with the Apple iPhone X, many Android smartphones have come with the feature. The company confirmed via Twitter that the device will receive the new update as version B320. Though Huawei sub-brand Honor rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo for the device alongside Honor 9 back in February, the update didn't bring the much-anticipated feature. Notably, the update had started to roll out in other regions in April itself. The update is over 500 MB in size and it is being rolled out "in small batches".

Honor has announced that it has started rolling out Face Unlock feature for its Honor 8 Pro smartphone in India.

With the latest update arriving as part of OTA, users will receive the download notification in upcoming days. Alternatively, users can look for a manual update by going to Settings System System updates.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.7-inch QHD LTPS LCD display. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC.

The Honor 8 Pro was launched in July 2017 in India priced at Rs 29,999, and can still be purchased at the same price through Flipkart.
