If it happens, Ryan Reynolds has a vision for 'Deadpool 3'

Speaking to EW, Reynolds touched on the possibility of making a third film in the franchise, saying he's unsure at this time.

"I've got to be really careful how I answer this", says the actor.

Lest you think Reynolds and wife Lively are hosting midnight screenings of Lantern with their friends on weekends, Reynolds admits he's actually never seen the finished product. Then there's the fact that Deadpool 2 already looks like an X-Force movie to begin with - the X-Force team is featured heavily in all the promos for the movie.

20th Century Fox's Deadpool 2 is due out in theaters May 18, but according to the star/producer/co-writer Ryan Reynolds he doesn't expect there to ever be a direct sequel - but says he would be open to reprising the role in other movies. "I would love to see him in a team-up sort of thing, like a mano a mano or a great female character from the X-Men universe".

"I do see him as being a part of X-Force, obviously".

"Except X-Force is much different than the Avengerss; X-Force is genrally made up of people morally flexible; they are guys who do work X-Men wouldn't or couldn't do. So I think best of all worlds, really".

"From a guy who never knows when to quit, I'm glad you guys never did", Reynolds captioned the Instagram snap. "Hugh Jackman is apparently retiring, despite the fact that I'm protesting nearly hourly".

The Deadpool movies are loosely connected to the X-Men universe, which explains why Stark mentions Professor X. The film rights to Deadpool and the X-Men are owned by Fox, but Disney, which also owns Marvel, announced in December that it would buy Fox's film studio and many of its television assets for $52.4 billion.

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 features Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable and Julian Dennison as Russell.
