The Arizona Cardinals may look to defense Saturday with their final three picks of this year's draft. The pick came at No. 97, as Mason Cole was selected by the Arizona Cardinals.

"I like Cole, he's got an interesting story in terms of where he's played", ESPN analyst Todd McShay said on the NFL Draft broadcast. He played nearly exclusively in the slot last season.

While going in the third round is never a bad thing, there was a time when some thought Cole could be a first or second-round pick. These players are considered undrafted free agents and often find themselves in the middle of deciding which teams offer them the best opportunities. If the Cardinals got no one besides quarterback Josh Rosen fans would have called it a rousing success.

Center is certainly Cole's best position, but the truth is, he could probably play guard and tackle in addition to center.

He fell due to a couple of reasons. He was the sixth Nittany Lion selected in the draft, after Saquon Barkley (New York Giants, No. 2 overall), Mike Gesicki (Miami Dolphins, No. 42 overall), Troy Apke (Washington Redskins, No. 109 overall), DaeSean Hamilton (Denver Broncos, No. 113 overall) and Marcus Allen (Pittsburgh Steelers, No. 148 overall). The Fordham product had the fifth-most rushing yards in FCS history with 5,862 over his four years in the Bronx.
