PlayStation VR Is Getting Its Price Slashed To £259/€299/$299

Sony will clearly be hoping that the price-drop will trigger a renewed spike in PlayStation VR sales.

If you've been thinking about buying a PSVR, I'd recommend waiting just a little longer. From a price of £349.99, it's dropping to £259.99 in the United Kingdom, with the European Union and USA also dropping from €399.99 and $399.99 to €299.99 and $299.99. The price is coming into effect tomorrow for the United Kingdom and European Union, but is available now for the US.

In the United States the price will drop to $299.99 USD/379.99 CAD.

Other, more expensive PSVR bundles will also come down as a result of this price cut, but as it stands, the Starter Pack and Doom bundle are the cheapest and best value packages you'll find for the headset in either region.

We'll see if the new price will give the console VR market the kickstart it needs to make virtual reality more accessible and closer to a mass market.

In the UK, Europe and Australia, it doesn't appear that there are any additional bundles available.

PlayStation VR Doom VFR Bundle (now $299.99 Dollars / 379.99 CAD, previously $399.99 USD / 499.99 CAD) - Includes a PlayStation VR headset, PlayStation Camera, PlayStation VR Demo Disc 2.0 and the Doom VFR Blu-ray Disc.

Once we have confirmation, we'll update this post. If you're in the United Kingdom, you'll save a tidy 100 quid, with PSVR dropping from £349 to £249.
