When the fifth-generation iPad debuted past year, Apple passed on the usual launch event fanfare to announce the device in a standard press release. A pair of fresh rumors say Apple may be working on new colors for its iPhone 8 and iPhone X, to "restore sales". While it is important that Apple needs to put some attention before the arrival of three new iPhone models that are going to be unveiled this September, it looks like Apple might have missed the big picture and that is the price.

As for Apple's low-priced 9.7-inch iPad refresh, the publication cites its own sources as saying a revamped sixth-generation tablet is expected to ship sometime in the third quarter.

A report claims that Apple will add a new colour variant of the iPhone X that should actually help the company to increase sales of the device.

As for the 6.1-inch model with an LCD display, a $799 price point doesn't seem unreasonable as that's what the iPhone 8 Plus now runs, and the two will likely be similar in terms of specs. A report last week said that as Apple raises its iPhone pricing, consumers are becoming less willing to spend as much on smartphones. Just a year ago, a special edition (Product) Red iPhone 7 was released at the end of March to join existing black, Jet Black, silver, gold and rose gold options. According to a report from Japanese blog Macotakara, the company wants to increase sales of the iPhone X, Apple's most expensive smartphone to date that will set you back $1000 (or approx Rs 64,857). On the other hand, the iPhone X is the kind of special handset that might get a mention during Apple's Chicago event.

Japanese-language blog Macotakara has it that Apple will release a new iPhone X version "for the objective of restoring sales", mentioning gold as an option. Apple is also planning to launch the sixth-generation iPad in the third-quarter of this year. Leaker Benjamin Geskin said a while ago that Apple is working on a "blush gold" version of iPhone X.
