The Swords of Ditto Gets April Release Date

The Swords of Ditto is a top-down action-adventure, akin to the 2D Legend of Zelda games, but with plenty of RPG elements and an animation style like looks like it came straight out of a Cartoon Network show.

Core to the experience is its cyclical structure, created to encourage repeated, iterative play-throughs. During each journey, players will begin by obtaining the titular Sword, and will then have to make their way through a series of new, procedurally generated dungeons.

But your actions will have a more direct impact on the land as well: "Take down Mormo and the world is a happier, brighter place", Devolver said, "but failure puts Ditto and its poor citizens into a dark, crumbling version of their world".

Once the three day time-limit ends with Mormo undefeated, you'll be able to try again in the guise of a newly generated hero.

Depending on how players do, the world will change in subsequent runs.

The only thing you'll retain in this new reality is your sword and the experience and power it gained in previous run-throughs.

The Swords of Ditto sounds delightful, with its strong central premise and appealingly silly tone. Fortunately, onebitbeyond took to PlayStation Blog today to announced that the game will be releasing on April 24 and unveil a new gameplay trailer.
