Rodney Mott left the game early in the third quarter, accompanied by Heat athletic trainer Jay Sabol. Newton finished with 15 points and made 4 of 4 free throws in the final 25 seconds to help Miami stave off UNC's frantic comeback until Berry's shot. "So we take them one game at a time and the good thing about this team is we got multiple guys that played good last night and if we continue to get that and we continue to get multiple guys playing well, then we got a real good chance".

Wade is now 31st on the career scoring list with Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter being the only active players ahead of him.

Less than three weeks ago they were still teammates in Cleveland.
