Our paths and styles may be different but our goal is same, asserted superstar Rajinikanth on being asked about his contemporary and good friend Kamal Haasan's political entry.

Rajinikanth's political debut has been a long-anticipated one and the things are all falling into place for the actor.

The actor, who enjoys cult status in Tamil Nadu, had on December 31 previous year announced he will launch his political party, which will contest all 234 seats in the next Assembly elections.

Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth, like his colleague Kamal Haasan, has decided not to pay heed to political mud-slinging. The actor, who was indecisive about his political plunge for two decades, finally swallowed the bitter pill on the last day of 2017 by announcing that his yet-to-be launched political party will contest the next assembly elections.

"If others want to shout, let them".

Rajinikanth said he is taking time to launch his party because any task in politics should be dealt carefully.

"We need (such) a strong foundation", he said, adding efforts were under way for creating it. "As far as this family is concerned I'm flawless", he noted. We are capable of teaching politics to many.

While Haasan launched his party Makkal Neethi Mayyam in Madurai Tuesday, Rajinikanth had announced in December that he will enter politics. Kamal is a very efficient person.

Hours after his statement on politics came the announcement about his next film. Pizza-fame Karthik Subbaraj will helm the film.
