"I'm on record saying I'm interested in doing the Twenty20 job for Australia if it came up and I can make it fit in and work".

The trio were announced as the inductees on Saturday night and will be inducted on Monday night. In the longest format, Ponting is also second-highest run-scorer in history and only sits behind the iconic Sachin Tendulkar, while in ODI cricket, he is the third-highest scorer. He amassed 13,378 runs in 168 Tests at an outstanding 51.85 with 41 centuries, while in ODIs, he scored 13,704 runs in 375 matches at 42.03 with 30 centuries.

While he has assisted the current all-format coach Darren Lehmann in the current triangular series, Ponting is eager to be head coach in the shortest form, having used much of his past five years since retirement immersing himself in T20, whether as coach of Mumbai Indians or commentating on the Big Bash League. A fluent and quick-scoring top-order batsman (and erstwhile left-arm medium-pacer until she got injured) Rolton was a major part of Australia's success, as underlined by her superb hundred which won her the Player-of-the-Match award in the 2005 World Cup final.

"Ricky Ponting is unquestionably one of the finest Test and one-day cricketers Australia has produced", said King. Equally adept in both Tests and ODIs, in 2001 she scored 209 not out against England at Headingley, breaking the then women's world record Test score, and that her average in the mid 70s speaks volumes. Both also played for South Australia, and Rolton passed 4000 WNCL runs in the 2007-08 season. Making her worldwide debut in 1995, she played 14 Tests scoring 1,002 runs at 55.66, including two centuries.

"Karen Rolton was a dominant left-hander who rightly takes her place in the top echelon of women's cricket", King said.

O'Neill made his global debut for Australia aged 21 and went on to score 2,779 runs in a career spanned seven years between 1958 and 1965. "He made his Test debut at the tender age of 21, and is well remembered for his century in the 1960/61 Tied Test just two years later".
