Momentum seemed to have shifted toward the home team Wednesday night at Mizzou Arena. If Martin gets this team back committed to defense and can pull more out of the two freshman bigs, there's no reason to think they can't get to 20 wins.

Barnett had 14 points in the first half. The Tigers fall to 13-7 overall and 3-4 in the SEC.

But this Auburn team is not that Auburn team. AU takes sole possession of first place in the SEC following No. 20 Florida's (14-6, 6-2 SEC) 77-72 loss to SC earlier Wednesday.

Auburn is back atop the Southeastern Conference standings by itself with its third road win in league play.

"We were locked in on defense, my goodness", Pearl said. "It was from the jump". Defensively, Auburn basketball yields 72.4 points per game against the opposing teams.

Harper led Auburn with 21 points, six assists and three steals.

Four players are averaging at least 10.8 points per game against the opposing teams, they are Brown (16.4), Mustapha Heron (15.0), Jared Harper (12.5) and Desean Murray (10.8) per game. Anfernee McLemore blocked six shots to increase his double-digit lead over the rest of the conference. AU made 23-of-26 free throws including 7-of-7 by Brown and 6-of-6 by Harper and Murray.

Missouri wasn't as effective in turning points into turnovers - 16 points from turnovers, compared to Auburn's 24. "Our kids are playing so hard and we looked really athletic tonight. I think he'll be OK". "It just wasn't one guy".
