This Harry Potter fan film is nearly too good to be true

Unfortunately for them, however, there hasn't been very much.

Last Summer, Harry Potter fans' hearts got all aflutter after watching the trailer for fan film Voldemort: Origins of the Heir. Admittedly, it's a great idea and one that, quite frankly, Warner Bros. has been foolish not to explore themselves.

Now, it's been released for the first time after director Gianmaria Pezzato struck a deal with Warner Bros in June previous year that allowed the film to be released in a not-for-profit capacity. Tryangle Films eventually reached an agreement with the studio, and has finally released its film, clearly marked as an unofficial fan project. Riddle is positioned as someone responsible for the death of Hepzibah Smith, a descendant of the Hufflepuffs, whom Mac Laggen finds murdered in her residence. "The case goes cold, but Laggen feels that there's something wrong, and she believes that Tom Marvolo Riddle is involved somehow".

In 2016 the film's creators had been re-reading the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which left them with a question: what drove the character Tom Riddle to become the most hated and feared wizard in the world? What happened in those years, and what really went down at Hogwarts when he came back?

"The only thing we can say is that they let us proceed with the film, in a nonprofit way, obviously", director Gianmaria Pezzato.

Voldemort: The Origins of the Heir is now available to stream and can be viewed in the embed above.

To be honest, we're still going to watch it. #Potter4Life.
