Loretta Lynn is resting comfortably after falling and breaking her hip, her sister, Crystal Gayle, has revealed.

In a message shared to social media, Crystal Gayle revealed that her sister Loretta Lynn is now recovering from a broken hip.

Gayle added, "I was with Loretta yesterday. She is doing well and thanks all her fans for their thoughts and prayers", the caption next to a picture shared Monday on Instagram of the 85-year-old country singer read.

Gayle, also a singer, said Loretta is in "good spirits and is doing as well as can be expected with this type of injury". After her May 4 stroke the country legend cleared her calendar and pushed back an album slated for last August to 2018.

Lynn had just recently recovered from a stroke and performed at the 2017 Tennessee Motorcycle and Music Revival. She did make it to the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville in October to help induct fellow country star, Alan Jackson.
