Rising country music star and Eustis native Michael Ray was arrested on DUI and drug charges early Wednesday morning when he allegedly hit another vehicle in a McDonald's drive-through.

According to the report, Michael's Jeep hit the auto in front of him waiting in the drive-thru line at McDonald's. The singer told police that his foot slipped off his car's brake pedal; however, police noticed that Ray "had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and he stumbled while walking and smelled of alcohol", according to the officer who made the arrest.

Ray was placed under arrest, and officers found a bottle inside of his left pocket, police said. Ray also told police that he had been at a bar in Tavares, a town a few miles south of Eustis. They conducted a series of sobriety tests, which cops say Michael bombed.

Finally, police said Ray performed successfully on the "finger and nose" test and did not consent to a breathalyzer test.

The singer achieved success in 2015 when "Kiss You in the Morning" reach the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Airplay charts. Ray - real name Michael Ray Roach - was charged with DUI and felony possession of marijuana following the incident, which happened at 3am on Wednesday (dec 20) and booked into Lake County Jail.

He's being held on a $6,000 bond.
