Xiaomi Needs Beta Testers For Android 8.0 Oreo On Mi A1

If you aren't familiar with the Xiaomi Mi A1, you've missed a chance to fall in love with something truly unique.

After finding Mi 6 testers for Android O based on China Alpha ROM, the Chinese technology giant has now announced that the Xiaomi Mi A1 can take part in stock Android 8.0 Oreo beta test programme irrespective of your location.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is a stock Android phone from Xiaomi and runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Provide your IMEI number in the app and if your application is selected, you will get an update to Android 8.0 Oreo beta on your Mi A1 handset. The IMEI number won't be revealed, and it can be obtained by dialing *#06#. If you use a Mi A1, you can check your IMEI by dialling *#06# on the phone's dialler. On the homepage of the app, select Recruitment. Click the Submit button.

The registrations for Mi A1 users are open until December 11, 9:29 PM IST. With the Snapdragon 625 inside supported by 4GB RAM and the Adreno 506 graphics chip, this phone will take care of your daily tasks and whatever you can throw at it. Xiaomi states that the applicant must ideally have an interest to test betas and some knowledge about ROMs. Once selected, the beta testers are required to share bug reports on time.

Notably, the mode of communication will be English and only active members of the global forum will be eligible for the testing program. They are also required to discuss and answer queries on the forum. Xiaomi reminds you that since this is beta software, there will be bugs and features that might not work. Also, bugs need time to fix and developers are not expected to rush to resolve issues.
