If you're ready to return to the game's violent and polygonal world, you'll be able to do so very soon in Superhot: Mind Control Delete, and if you already own the original game, it's completely free. The expansion will focus on adding a rogue-like experience to the game's signature time moves when you move gameplay. These can be accessed via an unlock system and a power-up store, and there are even new playable characters.

In the biggest departure from the game's first installment, players will get to play as multiple characters with different abilities, while gameplay will now be more akin to the procedural generation of a roguelike. Superhot: Mind Control Delete is a standalone expansion pack set in the Superhot universe and is designed as a rogue-like twist on the linear nature of the original game. "It won't give you any new enemy types to beat up and features only vanilla powerups until we get the base game balance just right". To counter your own powers, the enemies you face will become more hard, as well, and they become "more desperate to stop you". The Early Access release will initially be quite basic with no story so as not to spoil things, no advanced power-ups or enemies, no replay or point system, and no hidden menu mini-games.

There's been no word yet on whether or not Mind Control Delete will find its way to consoles in the future, but we're crossing our fingers just in case.

Superhot: Mind Control Delete will be released on Steam Early Access later today on December 7.

Players will be updated on the game's progress "every few weeks" via livestream, with the first major content drop planned for January.
