Anthony Davis day-to-day with groin injury

Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will better know the extent of his groin injury once the team examines him in New Orleans on Sunday, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Davis has already been ruled out of Monday's game vs. the Warriors, but he doesn't have any structural damage and this is a huge relief for the Pelicans and for his fantasy owners.

Davis, who was seen using crutches after missing Saturday's game against the Trail Blazers, is dealing with a left pelvic injury.

Davis suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Friday night's 114-108 loss to the Utah Jazz. While the Davis-less squad has gone 1-1 thus far, tonight will prove to be a HUGE challenge as they tip off at home against the star studded Golden State Warriors. Cousins poured in 38 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in New Orleans' 123-116 win in Portland.

While victories against Golden State is never an easy task to accomplish, without Davis, the teams odds greatly diminish. Instead, it is to emphasize just how important a guy like Davis is to his respective ball club. He's averaging 25.2 points, 11 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 blocks this season for the Pelicans.
