The 32-year-old driver was assaulted in the east London district of Walthamstow at around 6 p.m.

The victim, in his 30s, was attacked by two suspects on a moped yesterday as the acid attack menace continues to plague the capital.

In both cases, the drivers were targeted by two males on a scooter as they attempted to steal their victims' mopeds.

The area is a hotspot for moped-enabled crimes, which have reached epidemic levels in London in recent years and have become bound...

Around 25 minutes later, police were called to a second acid attack in Tottenham, about 1.5 miles from the first incident.

A delivery driver could lose his sight after he was "left fighting for his life" by an acid attack.

The Met said the teenager has been arrested over the Walthamstow attack and is being held on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm.

"This attack has left a man fighting for his life and with awful eye injuries".

"This was an innocent man going about his work as a delivery driver, who may never see again", he added.

The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

If you have any information about these incidents call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

This man was also treated in hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"Your phone call could save some other innocent person; it is imperative that we arrest those responsible".

Sentencing the pair the recorder said: "Police officers came upon the victims and noticed their injuries looked as if their faces were melting".

The rise of acid attacks has forced ministers to tighten laws and the proposed "two strikes" rule would be similar to the laws around knives.
