A total of 63 Sears and Kmart stores will close by late January 2018, including the Versailles and Frankfort Kmart locations according to a statement from Sears Holdings.

Kmart is closing four stores in Virginia, including its store at 4715 Nine Mile Road in eastern Henrico County.

This comes after Kmart locations in Boardman and Warren have closed, as well as Sears stores in Salem, Hermitage, Austintown and New Castle. While Sacramento no longer has a Kmart, the store's website lists five locations in the region: Auburn, Grass Valley, Jackson, Placerville and Stockton. The ailing retailer has lost more than $10 billion over the past six fiscal years, according to The Associated Press.

The number of associates impacted is not available at this time, the release stated.

Liquidation sales will begin as early as next week at the stores that will be closing, the statement released by Sears Holdings said. It also states that the stores will remain open through the Christmas season.
