Buyers concerned over swollen batteries in new Apple iPhone 8

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 camera consists of a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, and a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.8 aperture.

The first of these issues was recorded in Taiwan by a woman who purchased a 64GB iPhone 8 Plus in rose gold shortly after the phone was released just one week ago. Multiply this amount with the global demand for the iPhone X and it's easy to imagine how much money Samsung will make. However, it didn't do an equally excellent job at capturing highly backlit subjects. The live focus bokeh effect does well in both bright light and low light conditions.

The iPhone 8 Plus' reign as the sole top tested camera at DxOMark didn't last long.

While the Galaxy Note 8 is the recommended phone for low-light photography, the iPhone 8 Plus is the best pick for first-rate color rendering and HDR performance. However, the camera does suffer in video, scoring a "mere" 84 in that department. All three would essentially be three different sizes of the same basic design of this year's iPhone X, though obviously with next-generation internals and display technology.

But the spotlight has been shone on battery issues following the disastrous problems faced by Samsung with it's 2016 Galaxy Note 7. However, these scores would make little difference if you are tied to a specific ecosystem.

It should be noted that Google Pixel has got a score of 90 and HTC U11 has also got a score of 90 in the same DxOMark tests. These reports have caught Apple's attention too, as the manufacturer now says that it's looking into the matter. I don't expect the LCD-based iPhone to be called iPhone 9, nor do I expect the successor to the iPhone X to be called iPhone XI (pronounced "iPhone eleven"). DxOMark has given the Pixel 2 a rating of 98, while the iPhone 8 Plus and Galaxy Note 8 are rated at 94.
