@RSSorg Chief Mohan Bhagwat escapes major accident on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura

Summary: AGRA: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat escaped unhurt after his speeding auto rammed into another vehicle in his cavalcade on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district on Friday morning.The accident took place at around 8:30 am between milestone 84 and 85 almost 5km away from toll plaza in Surir police jurisdiction.

The collision happened when the tyre of one of the cars burst. Bhagwat is set to attend an event in Vrindavan, where he will also be accompanied by yoga guru and entrepreneur Baba Ramdev. "Sarsanghchalak Mohanji is safe and has resumed his journey to Vrindavan".

Mohan Bhagwat and all other people of his cavalcade escaped the major incident without any injuries.

The Rs 13,000 crore, 165-km long Yamuna Expressway has seen 4,054 accidents since the Expressway opened in August 2012 and has led to 548 deaths in 5 years.

The Central Roads Research Institute has identified overspeeding and tyre bursting as the main causes of accidents on the Yamuna Expressway.
