HGTV's "Fixer Upper" stars Chip and Joanna Gaines announced yesterday that their hit show is coming to an end after season five.

The handy couple issued a statement on their official site on Tuesday writing, "It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that Season 5 of "Fixer Upper" will be our last". "While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with".

"Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen".

Fixer Upper, which premiered in May 2013, has become one of HGTV's most popular shows ever. "We've shed tears - and I mean ugly tears - and then we've laughed". We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause. The couple says their family is healthy and their marriage "has honestly never been stronger". The couple's businesses - including the Magnolia Market at the Silos retail complex, e-commerce, furniture design, real estate, books, a magazine and a soon-to-open restaurant - have added hundreds of jobs to the Waco economy.

Keeping up with Chip and Joanna Gaines' business endeavors is about as hard as tracking the Kardashians' baby drama these days.

They recently announced that they are partnering with Target for a new line of home decor (Hearth & Hand by Magnolia).

"It has been a bittersweet time for us, because for the last five years this has been our life", Joanna Gaines said. "Thank you for caring about these homes and these families and the things that we care so much about". In response, their church leader Jimmy Seibert told Fox News, "We are not only not anti-gay, but we are pro-helping people in their journey to find out who God is and who He has made them to be". "In fact, in all of these things, we are just getting started". 'But there's something really romantic about not just saying, 'Remember where you came from, ' but really living that out'.

Gaines shared a photo of herself and Chip on Instagram yesterday, a few hours after their final season announcement was made.
