After a successful testing period on the Overwatch PTR, Blizzard has given the Junkertown map a September 19 release date.

The Overwatch free weekend has a start time of 7PM BST for all players in the United Kingdom this coming Friday and will end at 6.59AM BST in the United Kingdom the following Monday. You can check out the preview for the new map below as well as the Junkertown short here.

The balance updates for Mercy, which Blizzard announced in late August, are created to address problems with her original ultimate ability, Resurrect. This will be a regular move with a cooldown period.

The new map, first shown off during Gamescom last month, is the former Australian home of Junkrat and Roadhog. That is no longer her ult; it's been replaced by a new ability called Valkyrie, which turns her into a flying resurrection machine with infinite ammo. Valkyrie boosts Mercy's abilities and power, and even grants her the power of flight.

You can check it out right now on the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One versions of the game.

Junkertown is the latest escort map to join the map line up for Overwatch, taking place in the nuclear wasteland that is Overwatch's Australia.

"When they aren't pillaging the omnium's skeleton for anything of value, the Junkers blow off steam in the Scrapyard-a massive gladiatorial arena whose combatants fight for glory, riches.and to survive".

The Overwatch free weekend has an 7pm United Kingdom start time and ends at 6.59am United Kingdom time.

Finally, the developers have said that any progress can be carried over and transferred to the full game if any players decide they like the game enough to buy it afterwards.
