One arrested after shooting at Columbus high school, police say

Specialists who reacted to a report of a dynamic shooter at an OH secondary school say they captured one individual and took a weapon, and nobody was harmed. Parents should not come to school.

Officers said they were called to the campus of Columbus Scioto Friday morning.

Police then reported they arrested the suspect just before 9AM. Columbus Police wrote on Twitter.

Abdullahi was arrested and charged with a second degree felony count of shooting inside a "school safety zone", police said, adding that additional charges were possible. The suspect is being questioned to at CPD headquarters.

"Excellent job by our officers!" tweeted Columbus Police.

The suspect was arrested around 9:15.

Columbus City Schools said that classes have been canceled for the day, and that students have been transported to Linmoor Education Center on Hamilton Ave.
