Consequently, Georgia's resourcefulness and Notre Dame's snafus won the Bulldogs their first and lone consensus national title - and it was won similar to the way Notre Dame captured its first consensus national title with a 27-10 victory over Stanford in the 1925 Rose Bowl.

A large reason why the Owls trailed 21-3 at the end of the first quarter (Austin Jones 36-yd FG 2:23 1Q) came as a result of the inexperience on both sides of the ball, a new coaching staff, and an exceptional rushing attack from the Irish.

For Georgia's defense, the problems start with Notre Dame's offensive line, which Clark said is made up of "big boys".

"I think the takeaway is that your preparation and execution, you can beat, you know, with a Notre Dame football team anybody that you play".

"I missed a couple of throws, some routine throws", Marchi said. Our team is excited.

The Bulldogs will be surrounded by the mystique Saturday night at Notre Dame Stadium for a game with an official kickoff time of 7:43 p.m.

"It's going to be exciting for us up front because we have an offensive coordinator now that trusts us and means what he says when he says, 'We're going to put the ball in your hands, or the game in your hands, ' " McGlinchey said. Last year, he led the Bulldogs in tackles and is able to team with his partner inside, Natrez Patrick, to make life miserable for any runner. Now it's on to Notre Dame. He was highly efficient, completing 17 of 23 passes for 209 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, and rushing for 72 yards and a score on nine carries.

Georgia defeated Appalachian State 31-10 in Week 1 while the Irish took down Temple 49-16. Freshman Quarterback Jake Fromm quickly rescued their hopes and dreams with a solid performance. He's the first quarterback since Tommy Rees to account for two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in a single game.

Teammates are confident he'll perform just fine. However, to start with, I thought we'd take a quick look at how Georgia's offense might look in week 2.

Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly said Tuesday the NCAA denied the school's final appeal for immediate eligibility instead of Gilman sitting out the usual one year required of transfers.

"I'm not an expert, but you know, I've been in this game a while, and he's got a presence about him, and he's very comfortable running the Georgia offense", Kelly said. We now have a week behind us with some actual evidence in terms of scheme and play.

"I thought he came in and managed the situation well", Smart said. "(Fromm) will do a great job for them". "And they're going to feature two elite backs from an offensive perspective".

Chubb rushed for 96 yards while Michel added 87 in the opener against the Mountaineers.

"There were a lot of things that had to change", Kelly said in the postgame media session. Georgia's ability to keep a fresh pair of legs at running back is going to make it harder for Morgan, who really only had to contend with Temple's Ryquell Armstead, who gained 67 of the Owls' 85 yards on the ground.

But just in case the meaning was lost on the Bulldogs, defensive line coach Tray Scott presented his unit with a heavy-duty link chain during spring practices.
