As for the solution, during the panel Ybarra mentioned that they plan to "coach" developers on bringing the ability for players to choose who to play against, whether it's exclusively keyboard and mouse users, exclusively controller users, or both.

Just like the keyboard and mouse support, it seems that very soon we can expect to see gifting and wish lists coming to the Xbox Store.

The Xbox One X is scheduled to release worldwide on November 7, 2017, and is said to be the most powerful console ever built. A game can support keyboard and mouse input if the developers wants it there.

He went on to say that Microsoft will "coach developers" on setting up the feature with their games, keeping in mind that players will have some strong opinions on the matter as well. Some fans believe the keyboard and mouse options will largely change the way players interact with shooter games. The first group might be able to maneuver more quickly, for example. The customary peripherals for PC offer greater advantage in games over a controller.

Up until now Microsoft has also remained pretty quiet about when keyboard and mouse support is incoming. That certainly sets up a thrilling "Team Gamepad vs. Team Mouse and Keyboard' rivalry".

Ybarra spoke a lot about Microsoft's work with game developers in relation to the new system.

While speaking on a panel at PAX West on the weekend, corporate vice president Mike Ybarra stated that the company is already working with a number of developers to implement support for the peripherals on the Xbox One. The Minecraft Better Together update, similarly, includes some keyboard and mouse functionality. Ybarra's full confirmation of the feature, and the issues it raises, can be seen below.
