Watford have officially announced the signing of Udinese defender Molla Wague on a season-long loan deal, with the Mali global set to join Marco Silva's side after the worldwide break. The fact that both clubs are owned by the Pozzo family and regularly exchange players certainly works in their favour.

Greece worldwide Karnezis will provide competition for regular number one Heurelho Gomes, though he must first dislodge Costel Pantilimon from the bench.

The Malian defender becomes the 11th summer acquisition of the Vicarage Road outfit as they look to stamp themselves as English Premier League regulars.

The 26-year-old joined Leicester on loan from Granada in January but featured just once in the FA Cup before his season was ended by a groin injury.

Those 70 minutes were all that Wague managed to play for Leicester, as he missed the rest of the 2016-17 season.

Silva has favoured three centre backs so far this season and kept two clean sheets so far, though Miguel Britos is set for a suspension after his risky tackle on Brighton's Anthony Knockaert on Saturday.
