JioPhone was open for pre-booking on August 24. This overwhelming amount resulted in halting the pre-booking for a while. You can know the status of your JioPhone booking by calling 18008908900. It may not be quite easy now, as the delivery date for the Jio mobile has reportedly been shifted to September 25 at least in Delhi NCR. However, the plan is only available on the first recharge. Now adding up to the latest developments, a report by India Today states that the JioPhone deliveries that were scheduled to start from the first week of September have been delayed by a week. It should be noted that customers will get the phone on first come-first serve basis.

Reliance Jio JioPhone was unveiled at company's AGM meeting on July 21. Once through, you will move to payment options. Customers who wish to book one of these JioPhone's will have to pay Rs 500, adjustable against a refundable security of Rs 1,500.

Jio Phone delivery delay: Millions of feature phone users and Jio enthusiasts have already booked Jio Phones.

On recharge of Rs 40 and Rs 50, users will get a talktime of Rs 35 and Rs 58 respectively with unlimited validity. The three-step registration will be easier than going to a store, which even might have lines in front of them, last seen at the time of rollout of Jio 4G networks. The pre-booking has been suspended as of now but customers who wish to book a JioPhone can register their interest on Jio's website.

The stores will be allotted according to the pincode provided during the pre-booking. The offer is meant only for pre-paid users. Other features include support for NFC payments, and a separate JioCable accessory, which can be used to connect the phone with television set to stream content from the JioApps. The handset comes with a 2.4-inch, and an alphanumeric keypad under it.

Both carriers said that a mobile phone must access any browser, operating system or applications that are available on the Internet, else it becomes a breach or violation of network neutrality.

The views - without naming JioPhone - came during the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (Trai) discussions around net neutrality and could spark another round of hostilities between the new entrant and incumbent operators.

The phone offer 4G speeds for a pack of Rs 153 or smaller packs of Rs 53 and Rs 23.
