The update focuses on bug fixes, camera performance improvement and resolving minor issues related to the smartphone. The update comes few days after the rollout of the OxygenOS 4.1.7 for OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. The OnePlus 5 camera generally performs well when there is a good light source so this improvement is very welcomed. Today, the Chinese company is pushing out another update, but this time it aims another of its high-end devices, the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus Launcher gets a minor update. Once the software version is installed, the launcher will now show the country information of the photographs that were submitted to the Shot on OnePlus initiative. Some users reported that while the calls were going through, it was internet that was facing trouble on OnePlus 5. Improvements in call functionality have been introduced with the latest update.

The update brings along the fixes for accidental touches after hanging up, clarity issue of videos taken by SnapShot app, display issue of new font, and scrolling issue of Play Music. Separately, OnePlus has also announced that the company will be offering a 10 percent discount of the price for students who want to purchase the company's OnePlus 5 smartphone.

Like previous OTA updates from the company, the update will roll out on an incremental basis. The OxygenOS 4.5.8 update brought electronic image stabilisation (EIS) for 4K video recording and an Android security patch.

OnePlus 5 was launched in June this year with a starting pricing of Rs 32,999. The phone comes in two storage variants- 6GB RAM/ 64GB internal storage and GB RAM/ 128GB storage.
