Tottenham Hotspur are signing Juan Foyth from Estudiantes on Monday after allowing defender Kevin Wimmer to join Stoke City for £15million.

If everything goes to plan then Wimmer becomes the club's sixth signing of the summer following fellow central defenders Bruno Martins Indi and Kurt Zouma who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports News, Stoke have won the race to sign Wimmer after agreeing a £15m deal with Spurs, and the centre-back will undergo a medical with the Potters next week ahead of signing a long-term contract.

Wimmer said his goodbyes to the Spurs players and staff after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Burnley, for which he was omitted from the matchday squad, and the Austrian left Wembley to travel to Stoke, who will pay £15 million for him.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have now dropped five points in two home Premier League matches this season.

The Austrian worldwide has played just 15 Premier League games in his two years under Pochettino, and with Sanchez now on board to compete with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, Wimmer is set to leave Tottenham in pursuit of first-team football.
