Liverpool have entered the chase to sign Chelsea linked midfielder Renato Sanches in the final week of the transfer window.

The Portuguese starlet burst onto the scene at Euro 2016 but has since fallen down into the Under-21 squad due to a lack of pitch time after joining Bayern last summer.

And now Kicker are reporting that Liverpool have joined the list of suitors for Sanches and are set to step up their recruitment drive after successfully qualifying for the Champions League group stage proper.

Jurgen Klopp has brought in Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson but reported potential deals for Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk have yet to come to fruition.

Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that the player is available for loan although the suggestion is that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is only interested in a permanent deal. "At the same time, the best teams want to win and it is hard to win with the learning curve of the young boys".

With both Serie A clubs intently serious about adding quality and depth to their rosters, Milan and Juve would be more than content to find the young Portuguese midfielder in their colors. It's different at big clubs.

Ever since his brilliant performance at the 2016 European Championship, Sanches was heavily sought after and he ended up transferring to the reigning German champions for €35 million in 2016.

He played just 618 league minutes in the Bundesliga last season and failed to play a direct role in any of Bayern's goals. You may recall that we mentioned a link with him a couple of weeks back but that was pretty weak speculation at the time.
