Authorities in CT say rescuers have recovered the bodies of two fishermen who went missing on Long Island Sound.

Police have confirmed that the bodies of two missing fishermen have been recovered in Fairfield late Saturday afternoon. 32, are both from Yonkers, New York.

The Coast Guard command center was notified around 7:45 a.m. that they were needed for a search and rescue in Penfield Reef in Fairfield, the Coast Guard said.

Officials said six people were fishing on the reef when the tide came up quickly trapping them all in the water.

A Coast guard rescue crew was dispatched from New Haven to search for the two men, who are being described as Hispanic and in their mid-20's. They say a Fairfield Marine Unit rescued four of the six people, however others could not be located.

Emergency responders and several dive teams from Fairfield, Bridgeport, Westport, Stratford, Milford and the Coast Guard responded to participate in the search and recovery, McNamara said.
