Of course, Ned Stark is executed in season one, but not before Sansa sends ravens to her mother and brother, doing as Cersei and her advisors at the time (one of whom was Littlefinger) instructed.

The letter in question is one that Sansa was coerced by Cersei into writing to Robb Stark.

After last week's episode, we watched Arya Stark return to her home in Winterfell and was reunited with her siblings Bran and Sansa Stark - and it was so attractive we couldn't deal. He should instead worry exclusively about its meaning - that Sansa (and, she presumes, Arya) are under Lannister control, and will die along with Ned if anything goes wrong.

I write to you with a heavy heart. She wasn't aware that Sansa wrote it under duress and will now be questioning whether Sansa has been allied with the Lannisters this entire time. Littlefinger hid the message somewhere in his room, and when he left, Arya broke in and found it inside his mattress.

At this point, Cersei Lannister, accompanied by Lord Varys, Littlefinger, and Grand Maester Pycelle, forced Sansa to write a letter to her brother and mother back at Winterfell to keep the peace.

".is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar (attack?)". Then in Sunday's episode there were more examples of Arya doubting her sister and her sister's leadership. Father has been charged with treason. Arya isn't keen on the shadowy figure, but understands he has a close relationship to her sister.

The scroll #AryaStark finds in Littlefinger's room is filled with Sansa's apparent betrayal of her family, saying that her father tried to "steal Joffrey's crown". Now, Arya might believe that Sansa has been plotting against the rest of the Starks all along. The Lannisters are treating me very well and providing me with every comfort. Littlefinger is trying to sow seeds of doubt between the sisters.

On Game of Thrones: Inside the Episode, showrunner D.B. Weiss explained what is happening.

'She gets roped into spying on somebody who's actually leading her by the nose to something that he wants her to have, ' he added.

"He's looking for a way to prevent this sister bond from developing further, because the tighter that bond is the more definitively he is caught on the outside of it".

In other news, Eastwatch saw unmarried Queen Cersei announce her pregnancy to brother-lover Jaime, the long-anticipated return of Gendry, Daenery's burn some important people alive, and Jon Snow make some new allies in dragons and humans.

Game of Thrones Season 7 is now airing on Sunday nights at 9 p.m.
