Neymar's defining career moments at Barcelona

FC Barcelona soccer star Neymar has told the club he plans to leave, in a potential blockbuster move with a rumored price tag of $262 million that's raising eyebrows across the board, and some outrage as well.

He arrived at Barcelona's training ground on Wednesday to tell team mates he was moving to Paris, Catalan radio RAC1 reported.

The Brazil worldwide is on the brink of joining the French club from Barcelona in a deal which will smash the current world record which Manchester United set last summer when they paid £89m to Juventus for Paul Pogba.

However, Neymar's four-year spell in Spain has also been overshadowed by the murky transfer deal which brought him to Barcelona from Santos in 2013.

Teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar will apparently no longer share the field at Barcelona.

But it's still a hassle for Konami, who in an absolute best case scenario would be promoting the Barcelona edition of the game with a man who wants to leave Barcelona.

Neymar flew back to Spain from Dubai on Tuesday following Barcelona's pre-season tour in the United States, after attending a series of promotional events in China earlier this week.

The giant-sized achievements of the pint-sized Argentinian dwarfs everyone else at Barca and Neymar, is probably yearning to step out of Messi's shadow.

Vives noted that Neymar "is still under contract with FC Barcelona, but with temporary permission to not take part in the training session". "We're talking about a lot of money", said Ramon Urgell, a 63-year-old economist.

Mancini said: 'We also wanted to buy Neymar, but unfortunately, PSG beat us to him'.

Reports have it that the striker is expected to have medical anytime soon at the Paris club if everything goes smoothly.

Still, not all supporters showed the same level of understanding.

To say this is shocking undersells the magnitude of the transfer; the third-best player in the world does not swap teams unless they're going to Barcelona (or Real Madrid).

But after weeks of speculation and uncertainty, many are just glad that the drama has finally come to a close. Owned by the Gulf state of Qatar through Oryx Qatar Sports Investments, the club has a virtually limitless supply of cash to throw around.
