Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena start filming 'Transformers' movie spinoff 'Bumblebee'

"Bumblebee" has also been given a release date of December 21, 2018, delaying its original date by a few months.

The movie will take place in California in the 1980s where the transformer Bumblebee will find its way to Charlie (Steinfeld) who will try to fix the auto. Charlie (Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. The cast is being led by Hailee Steinfeld (who's character is a tomboy which doubles up with the job of a mechanic), and also features Jorge Lendeborg, Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny. The film project is the first spinoff of the Transformers series and is believed to be a Transformers Cinematic Universe that that will include prequels and offshoots from a line of movies that have generated more than $3.7 billion worldwide. Recently, he was seen in Doug Liman's The Wall opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and in HBO's film Tour de Pharmacy.

In July, Cena told Complex that he knows his days are numbered in the WWE ring. "So in the time I have left, I'm gonna do what I can to dedicate to this company I just want to be able to do it the most time that I possibly can".

The details of Cena's character have not been revealed yet.
