Hours after it was launched on Saturday, the site did suffer a series of connectivity issues, but it was later restored as glitches were worked out.

The US rock band shared the moving letter on their social media accounts on Monday night, a few days after the 41-year-old was found dead at his LA home. In a recent statement released by the band, it appears that they will not be replacing anyone with the vacant position left behind by the deceased singer. Waves of grief and denial continue to cross our families as we try to understand what happened.

Linkin Park has returned to the charts after lead singer Chester Bennington's death last week.

Bennington was found dead on Thursday on the 53rd birthday of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who hanged himself in May. The singer, they wrote, "touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized".

The Los Angeles County coroner's office determined Bennington's cause of death as a suicide by hanging. They are warm in the heart to Talinda (the wife of Chester Bennington, ed) and to your family who want the world to know that you were the best husband, son and father in the world.

Bennington's excitement about their years to come was infectious, the band said, and his absence "leaves a void that can never be filled - a boisterous, funny, ambitious, creative, kind, generous voice in the room is missing".

He said Bennington would have approved of the helpline, adding: "I spent many hours working alongside Chester and he was an incredibly passionate man".

The band's 2001 debut, Hybrid Theory, and latest album One More Light - released less than three months ago - are now at third and fifth in the album charts. Linkin Park and Machine Gun Kelly had already concretized plans to embark on a North American Summer tour which was meant to kick off on July 27.

Linkin Park bandmate, Mike Shinoda, reacted on Twitter to reports of Bennington's death.
